I’m a level 42 human, multiclass bard/ranger/wizard/artificer.
I’ve been creating art in some shape or splatter ever since I can remember, and find it to be a very rare day when I’m not crafting in some way. While I may not have the dedicated time and energy to do every craft or project that pops into my head, I make it a point to work artistry into every little thing I do. Whether it’s interacting with my kids, cooking for my family, or caring for my home, I still squeak in art and whimsy.
More than thirty years ago, a very young Lyz was sat down at a table alongside the “younger” cousins by my older cousin, given graph paper, pencils, and some funny looking dice. I was drafted into a game of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, because he needed more people at the table, and haven’t really looked back since. It awakened a sense of fantasy and opened my imagination in ways I sincerely cannot comprehend, even today.
Years later when I was twenty, a friend plopped me down at a table in an effort to reconnect, and that was truly the Beginning Of It. It was a struggle not to purchase new dice every week, and I still have the first set of my very own I purchased to play with (Chessex Aurora Borealis), along with all of the assorted PHBs that I picked up. A Dice Dragon was born that day, and I am still an unabashed collector.
When the plague ravaged the globe, a dear friend of mine told me that her new crafting hobby was to make dice…which led me to tumble down a rabbit hole. I started with finishing raw dice and eventually graduated to creating my own! I’ve been casting my own dice since 2021, and haven’t run out of ideas yet!
Genuinely, the overwhelming joy and pride I feel when people roll my dice is indescribable. To know that I am at least a small part in the stories you craft makes me feel an inexpressible amount of love and community. The support and collaboration I’ve gotten from the dice and the TTRPG community has changed my life, throughout my life, and I hope my contributions have brought the same delight into the lives of others.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to you. Whether you’ve purchased my dice, enjoyed my characters, or simply been a friend, thank you.
May your high rolls be perfectly timed and your low rolls create the most delicious drama.
XOXO,
Lyz
